Shock
| Shock test are performed to assure that a product or component can withstand shocks encountered during it's handling, transportation, operation or service environment. | |
| Mechanical shocks will excite a product to respond at both forced and natural frequencies. This response can cause various mechanical and electrical failures. | |
| American Environments Company generates shock environments utilizing either Dynamic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Mechanical, or drop systems. | |
| AECO provides full service shock testing. We control, measure and analyze shock events. | |
| Bench Handling | |
| This ability of a product to be undamaged when subjected to shocks incured on a bench during normal servicing. | |
| Crash Hazard | |
| Testing of the mounting system used to secure a product. This test verifies that the product will stay secured during a crash. | |
| Component | |
| Testing is performed in accordance with MIL-STD-202 and MIL-STD-883. | |
| Fragility | |
| A test performed to determine a product's fragility level so that packaging can be designed for it or that it can be confirmed that the product is compatible with existing packaging. | |
| Functional | |
| A product's ability to operate during shock pulses encountered in it's normal operating environment. | |
| Gunfire | |
| A product's ability to survive repetitive shocks created by a rapid fire gun or cannon. | |
| Pyrotechnic | |
| A products ability to survive a shock pulse created by an explosive event. | |
| Shipboard | |
| Navy High Impact Shock Testing for lightweight applications. | |
| The purpose of this
test is to verify the ability of shipboard installations
to withstand shock loading which may be incurred during
wartime service due to the effects of weapons. AECO's shock machine is constructed and installed in strict compliance with BUSHIP plans and drawings. The installed machine has been inspected by the Naval Sea Systems Command and is listed as an approved source. The machine is operated in accordance with MIL-S-901 and the procedures detailed in the Naval Research Laboratory Report Number 8631. |
